Purpose and Scope:

Asian Workshop on Sensing and Visualization of City-Human Interaction (AWSVCI 2009) will be held in Peking University, Beijing, China, August 27, 2009. We invite researchers, practitioners, educators and students, and others interested in City-Human Interaction. This workshop aims to present the state-of-the-art research contributions that address the various aspects of Sensing and Visualization of City-Human Interaction. We also aim to promote the understanding among players, and stimulate interaction between participants through them. AWSVCI 2009 focuses on the emerging area of City-Human Interactions. This emergence is an outcome of the rapid evolution in smart appliances and devices, as well as tremendous advances in wireless sensor networks and ubiquitous computing. Areas of interest include, but not limited to:

  - Enabling Technologies for City-Human Interaction   - Infrastructure for City-Human Interaction   - Portable Devices and Wearable Computers for City-Human Interaction   - Wireless Networks, Home Network and Ubiquitous Networks   - Smart Sensors and Sensor Networks   - Security and Privacy for City-Human Interaction   - Social Implications of Urban Sensing and Visualization   - Location-dependent and Context-aware Computing   - City-Human Interaction in Ubiquitous Computing   - Visualization Technology of City-Human Interaction

  Submission deadline      :June 29, 2009 (500-word abstract)   Notification of acceptance   :July 10, 2009   Camera-ready papers      :August 1, 2009 (up to 4 papges)

All paper submissions will be handled electronically by the EasiyChair conference system (http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=awsvci2009). If you do not already have an account, you will need to create one.

All papers should be formatted according to the ACM SIGCHI Format.

Registration Fee:

Regular: 20,000 Japanese Yen

Students: 10,000 Japanese Yen

(Special rates are available for Peking University students. Please contact Huijing Zhao for details. The registration fee does not cover meals.)

Workshop Venue:

AWSVCI 2009 will take place at Peking University. The campus, known as "Yan Yuan" (the garden of Yan), is situated at Haidian District in the western suburb of Beijing. Click here for more information
